![]() ![]() A recent job posting was tracked by IGN that confirms the existence of an "ambitious unannounced AAA title," possibly Horizon Call of the Mountain or one of the above projects. ![]() One is a massively multiplayer game and the other is a dark narrative experience. Head of PlayStation Studios, Hermen Hulst, and managing director of Firesprite, Graeme Ankers, confirmed in an interview to that Firesprite is working on more than one project. This game appears to be PS5 only and coincides with the 2023 TV show. This now has all been underlined with the hiring of ex-Evolution employee and action-racer Motorstorm director Matt Southern. Instead, Firesprite appears to now have the Twisted Metal project according to some reputable outlets. It’s a gorgeous open world adventure saga where you kill robot dinosaurs with. Apparently, Sony was so unhappy with XDEV-partnered Lucid Games that the team were stripped of making the game despite releasing Destruction All-Stars to prepare for it. The Horizon series, whose last entry Forbidden West was a 2022 game of the year contender, seems like a perfect fit. A Twisted Metal remake is also rumoured to be in development. This announcement also confirmed a rumour from Nick Baker last year. Though there are no details about what the game might actually be like, a former employee at Guerrilla has stated that this will change the game for AAA VR titles. While players can easily spend dozens of hours harvesting machine parts across gigantic open worlds in Horizon 's core games, Call of the Mountain is a contained, almost on-rails experience. Firesprite has been entrusted with bringing the Horizon franchise to PlayStation VR2 with its new game Call of the Mountain, developed alongside Guerrilla Games. ![]()
